THE BAGADUCE MUSIC YOUNG ARTIST FESTIVAL

Members of the education committee at Bagaduce Music have exciting news!  They are collaborating with renowned performers, cellist Vasily Popov and pianist Ralitza Patcheva, to create a unique program for gifted musicians ages 10-18: The "Bagaduce Young Artist Festival", to be held the week of July 27, 2019.
The festival will include master classes, coaching, music games, field trips and performances.  What makes this festival very special is the great performing opportunities that will be given to the festival participants.
During the week of coaching with the festival artistic directors, cellist Vasily Popov and pianist Ralitza Patcheva, young musicians will work on preparing a chamber music program, which they will present in three recitals in concerts halls around Blue Hill, Maine during the weekend of August 1-3, 2019.  Popov and Patcheva will also collaborate with the young musicians by performing on stage with the groups.
Vasily Popov and Ralitza Patcheva are well known to audiences in the US, Europe and Russia.  The duo has been praised in the media for their "Mozartean clarity with  heart-felt personal expression" (Washington Post), along with "elegant pianistic technique and courageous, innovative interpretation."
Popov and Patcheva lead the orchestral and chamber music program at the Levine School of Music, which has campuses in Washington DC, Bethesda and Silver Spring, MD and Arlington, VA.  Dr. Patcheva also serves on the piano faculty at Catholic University in Washington DC.
The estimated cost of the one week program for one young musician is $700. The Bagaduce Young Artist Festival is planning to offer need-based scholarships for festival students. For more information on the Bagaduce Young Artist Festival, please contact Vasily Popov at wasjapopov@hotmail.com
