SEARCH TIPS

• You may start your search with our dynamic Category menus. The dropdown menu on the left dynamically creates a list in the dropdown menu on the right, so you may choose any category of music. These menus automatically write the proper coding information into the Shelving Code field. You may also type a code or part of a code into the field yourself. Lists of codes may be found by clicking the color-coded buttons above.

• Each category has a Shelving Code that indicates the instrument, voice, and other attributes (SATB Sacred, 2 Violins, etc.). In the Library's coding system, Shelving Codes are followed by an Inventory Number of up to six digits that identifies the specific piece, and there may also be a letter designating the Edition.

Composer or Title information will be the next most likely information you may have about the music. Enter the composer's name or part of the name, or the title or part of the title. For more information on searching the Library's database of music titles, see the Tutorial.
