Bagaduce Music was founded in 1983 as the Bagaduce Music Lending Library.  It is a not-for-profit, one-of-a-kind printed music library located in the town of Blue Hill on the Maine coast. Bagaduce Music has grown to become an international resource center for printed music and scores, housing numerous collections of music representing all genres of music.  Music borrowers include individuals in all fifty states and 27 foreign countries.
Our collection comprises more than 1 million pieces of printed music,  including over 250,000 individual titles, both classical and popular.  New titles are added daily. The collection is shelved and catalogued in five major sections: Choral - multiple and single copies; Instrumental - solo, ensemble and conductors' scores; Keyboard - piano and organ solo, two piano and piano duet; Vocal - popular and classical sheet music, opera and musical theater scores, and anthologies of popular and folk songs; Reference - encyclopedias, dictionaries, biographies, histories and other books by and about musicians. The collection also includes many rare and out-of-print titles.
We invite you to search our holdings online, become a member and borrow music.  If you have any questions, our staff and volunteers are available five days a week: 207-374-5454 or
As a not-for-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of donors and volunteers to keep our operation going. This library has been built and sustained by musicians and music lovers who find great value in printed music and want to preserve it for the future and share it with as many people as they can. We help to expand repertoires and lower costs for numerous music organizations around the country and thousands of concerts each year are improved by using our music.
