We are happy to announce that we met our 2019 spring Challenge Grant !  Generous donors matched the Board of Directors' $17,500 challenge by our target date of April 5th, raising a total amount of $36,168.  Many thanks to all of you who donated to this effort!

Bagaduce Music was established in 1983 as the Bagaduce Music Lending Library. Its Founders and Board of Trustees recognized early on that music is central to people, to their celebrations of life, and to the artistic culture in Maine and beyond.  For 34 years Bagaduce Music flourished and grew; it now has more than 1 million pieces of printed music in its collection.   As a result, it had outgrown its space.

In 2015 two local philanthropists, Jan and Bob Marville, donated property to Bagaduce Music, and a successful Capital Campaign was begun by the Board of Directors to construct a new building to better house this enormous music collection. The new building opened on the new campus in June of 2017.  The campus includes a renovated performance hall, which has proven to be a wonderful new community space for concerts, rehearsals, lectures, recitals and more.
Please call us at 207-374-5454 if you would like a tour of the new campus.
